Absolutely! The program is designed specifically for people who want to break into product marketing. Generally, we expect you to have 3-10 years of prior experience in an adjacent field, such as consulting, sales, product management, content or growth marketing, strategy, ops, and more. Even if you are unsure whether this program is a fit, apply anyway! We will respond to each application.
Yes! However, this program is much more than a certification program. It focuses on the practical application of product marketing principles and builds your portfolio with real-world projects and experiences—which are the most important things valued by employers.
We believe the best way to learn product marketing is through real-world experience, so there are no prerequisites. Having said that, one of the most important product marketing skills is positioning and messaging. We encourage you to complete Olivine’s FREE B2B Positioning and Messaging course before beginning this program. In addition, please read this Job Search Guide provided by Yi Lin.
This program contains essential information you need to be career-pivot-ready but is more of a core skills-building program. However, once you take this course and are ready for job searching, we also recommend Yi Lin’s personalized 1-1 interview coaching program to get even more customized support to help you land your next role successfully.
You will be better positioned to secure a full-time job in product marketing by the end of this program. However, since this is not a recruiting program, there are no guarantees of placement.
Absolutely! All sessions will be recorded for playback on demand. However, to get the most out of this program, we ask that you attend at least 50% of all sessions.
You will be asked to fill out a preference survey when you sign up and will be paired with a startup that aligns with your preferences as closely as possible.
